Solicitors’ Websites and Blogs Neglected and Abandoned-The Hidden Costs

Most solicitors’ websites and blogs involved significant investment when they were first launched; and the solicitors who footed the (probably exorbitant) bill had the best of intentions and ambitious plans.

But sooner or later, and sooner in most cases, they fell into a state of disrepair ranging from being completely outdated to being totally abandoned.

Understandably, solicitors whose primary concern is taking care of their existing case load and generating new leads and clients had more pressing concerns.

And in many cases, the solicitor’s firm had nobody on the payroll with the necessary IT skills to keep the website/blog updated with fresh content and news, never mind implementing the smart strategy of building out the site with lots of relevant content to attract more visitors and new clients.

Even if the solicitor’s practice had someone with the necessary skills to upload the content, the likelihood is that they didn’t have the necessary legal expertise to write it.

The sad and costly results are twofold:

  1. The initial investment in the site is, to all intents and purposes, wasted or sunk and
  2. The professional image of the solicitors practice is badly damaged with visitors raising eyebrows and clicking away because of the datedness and paucity of content addressing their legal issue.

All is not lost however.

An abandoned, dated solicitor’s website can easily be resurrected and refreshed with a bit of astute preplanning and a commitment to a programme of regular publishing of new legal content which searchers will enjoy and prompt new leads and enquiries.

One advantage that many of these sites and blogs have is the advantage of “age”. Google, when ranking websites, gives a significant weighting to the age of a website; it can ascertain this easily from when the domain name was first registered.

I provide a legal content writing service for these types of legal websites and blogs which addresses the problem I have outlined above.

And I have two significant advantages for the task:

  1. I am a legal professional and
  2. I am very familiar with web design and the various content management systems used when creating websites-Wordpress, Joomla, and old fashioned html websites.

If you want to resurrect and refresh your website and recognize the benefits of having your website updated on a regular basis with relevant content for your practice, please use the content form and I will give you a free, no obligation proposal.

This will be based on your existing practice areas, any practice areas that may be underdeveloped on your website and any new areas you may wish to focus on.

This consultation/report is completely free.

All you have to do is email me via the contact form and I can assess your website/blog remotely and I will then send you a short report setting out exactly where you should be going to develop your website to bring in new traffic and clients.
